Over the last five years, pajunas interactive has enjoyed an extremely loyal user base. We've never had to do a lot of marketing to get new business, most of our growth was from me just being myself and sponsoring user group meetings. This has become the "Allie and her friends" hosting platform, which is just fine by me!
I'm not looking to run just another commodity hosting provider. There are already 10,000 hosting companies in the world that are larger than pajunas, and I would be using one of them if they provided the kind of services we're building.
Because of our relative size and personal approach, I don't think that what we are doing is apparent to people outside of my circle. We have built a surprisingly robust and scalable infrastructure (not your run-of-the-mill hosting setup), and we're making progress with networking in the Twin Cities and building awareness of open source tools and resources. The silly part i that these efforts have become our best-kept secret, which is probably not the most ideal way to market a business.
In the long run, we'll definitely need a better marketing and communications strategy. For now, I'll do what I do best - be myself and use this space to explain the goals and directions of pajunas interactive.
