In order to be eligible for the better world discount, your site's primary purpose must be to provide products, services or information related to the open source movement or environmental causes.
You can't simply drop a hyperlink for greenpeace or apache.org on your web site and expect to be eligible, the causes outlined in the better world discount program should be part of the site's mission.
We encourage you to use open source software on your site, but the use of this software does not constitute eligibility. To be eligible for the better world discount as an open source site your content needs to surround the promotion and support the cause, not simply to make use of it.
Examples of eligible sites:
- An ecommerce site that concentrates on selling ecologically sound merchandise
- A site for a consulting service that supports environmental causes
- A community or information site with links, discussion forums and other resources for a particular open source tool or environmental cause
- Promotion for consulting services surrounding primarily open source technology (eg. Linux, FreeBSD, PHP, Perl, Apache ...)
- The home page for an open source software product. It doesn't matter if you're making a profit, as long as your source code is freely available under an open source license.
Do you think your site qualifies but is not in the list? ask us about it and we will consider it. We really are reasonable people.
While we don't generally concern ourselves with the content of client sites, we may periodically visit sites in this program to ensure they in keeping with the standards of the better world discount. If you apply for the better world discount when you sign up for service we may grant it based on your application without having seen it. After 2 months of discounted service we will visit your site again and you may be disqualified if the site has not been developed or if we feel that it is does not meet requirements of this program.
Pajunas interactive reserves the right to revoke, change or cancel the program for any and all participants at any time for any reason.
